Shalom! Thank you so much for taking the time to read our newest Newsletter.
As always, we want to say thank you for all you support through prayer and giving!
It's December and with this the year of 2024 is coming to an end. We are also about to finish our last quarter for 2024 here at YWAM Lausanne before we than enter into a christmas break.
In this Newsletter, we like to share about the MLD (Ministry Leadership Development School) and other ministries we have been involved over the last 3 months and what is coming next for our family as we have some wonderful news to share with you! :)
Those who are far from you will perish; you destroy all who are unfaithful to you. But as for me, it is good to be near God.I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. (Psalm 73:27-28)

1. MLD (Ministry & Leadership Development School)
This semester, we were able to serve at a school called MLD, which trains the next generation of leaders.
The focus of the school is to learning about the Jesus-modeled leadership within the context of ministry. We had several speakers coming who taught us on different topics like funding your ministry, servant leadership, character of a leader, understanding the different communication types in cultures, counselling skills, public speaking, spiritual disciplines and prayer leadership.
As a school we wanted to make the themes we learned as practical as possible and therefore we had the privilege to help in several events like our prayer day and kingdom come (city evangelism event) where we could apply the learned topics.
Testimony from one of our students One of our students had been a well-known professional gamer in Europe for many years, starting in his teenager yeaers. He had won many prizes in gaming competitions and had a gaming YouTube channel with thousands of subscribers, but he was also struggling with many different issues.
But after he met Jesus in a personal relationship, God began to heal his life in amazing ways. Beyond his personal recovery, he began to share the love of God he had encountered with others. And also he started to dream to help other young adults like him who were struggling to meet Jesus and live a life of restoration.
Beyond his personal recovery, he began to share the love of God that he had encountered with others, and had a dream to help other young adults like him who were struggling to meet Jesus and live a life of restoration.
He wanted to share the love of Jesus with his friends he used to play with, so he recently made a video of his testimony and posted it on his YouTube channel. He says that he was afraid for people to look at him strangely because of this testimony, but he couldn't help but share the love of God that changed his life.
Through the MLD, he gained greater confidence in his God-given calling and vision, which led to his decision to join our staff team for the upcoming DTS.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. (1 Tim 4:12, 16)
2. Other Ministries
A. Hearing God’s Voice Teaching
At the beginning of the semester, SeongEun and myself got invited to teach in our September DTS on the topic of “hearing God's Voice.” We were both excited and nervous as we have not done this before.
We taught them how God speaks to us in our lives and how hearing God's voice is not some special, mysterious spiritual experience that comes in the form of a “voice,” but rather the guidance He gives to our hearts through daily meditation on His Word and a life of fellowship with Him.
We also tought about the Father heart and how much he longs for us to be in a love-based relationship with him.
It was a great experience for us to work together in a new way as we both prepared parts of the teaching. We ended our sharing with a time of praying over the individual that they can start to see our heavenly father as a father who loves and values them.
Hearing God’s voice comes from the habit of knowing Him, spending time with Him. God longs for our prayer life to be a dialogue and not a monologue. How we communicate with God is based on how we see him.

B. Prayer Day
Also this quarter we had the privilege to be part of the leadership team of our quarterly prayer day. As we prayed and prepared for the day we strongly felt to emphasis that everyone is able to hear and seek God's voice. The day was split into 3 main parts of prayer.
The youngest among us can hear from the Lord. Young believers can listen from the Lord what we need to hear.” - Darlene Cunningham
During our morning session we prayed and seeked God's voice for how He wants to lead our community in the year 2025. We prayed in groups of 6-8 people and then shared about the hearts that God had given us. It was a very speacial time as we prayed in small groups yet we as a community received in the different groups a lot of similar senses.
Specifically, through the words of Jeremiah 17:7-8, God challenged us to be a community that relies on God alone, and to be a community that clings to Him as branches, remembering that Jesus is our vine.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. (Jeremiah 17:7-8)

In the afternoon we went to the city of Lausanne and prayed over the land for God's kingdom to come, specifically we prayed into the seven areas of society: family, government, economy, religion, education, media, and culture.
Our final part was focused on Africa.
Africa is still the youngest continent in the world, and it's a growing continent, with 46% of the world's youth expected to be African by 2100.
We were able to pray for more evangelism and discipleship in Africa, for young leaders to raise up and for bible translations to happen for tribes and langues without access to a bible and for those direclty involed in the translation process.
Our MLD students also set up seven prayer booths to pray for Africa, focused on the unreached people groups, Bible Poverty, YWAM ministries in Africa, countries where Christians are persecuted, humanitarian issues (human trafficking, war, poverty, racism, early marriage, refugees, etc.), education, and young people.
It was an amazing time to come together as a community, to receive God's heart for the several topics we prayed for and to see God move in our midst.
Jesus, Jesus, You make the darkness tremble
Jesus, Jesus, You silence fear
Your Name is a light that the shadows can't deny
Your Name cannot be over come
Your Name is alive, forever lifted high
Your Name cannot be overcomeTremble - Mosaic MSCC. Kingdom Come
preparation for the event
Beginning of December we had our city outreach "kingdom come" in downtown Lausanne.
This time we focused on the theme Christmas and the hope of Jesus Christ.
It was difficult to find a place to hold the event because most of the squares in the city were already occupied by Christmas markets and the square we got a permit for was surrounded by people consuming drugs, bars and the atmosphere felt heavy and dark.
But when we visited this place to pray and worship in preparation for the event, God spoke to us through the lyrics of the worship song Here as it Heaven.
He gave us hope that the spiritual atmosphere of this place would change because God's Spirit is here, that God's presence would flood this square, and that God's kingdom will come in the midst of this place.
So we began to visit this place once a week for three weeks to worship and pray, to share the gospel with the homeless and refugees who were consuming drugs in this square, and to pray with our MLD students every morning during the week of the Kingdom Come event that God would heal and transform this land.
the event
Early in the morning on the day of the event, we set up the stage, hung Christmas decorations and lights, brought out tables and benches, and started inviting people to join us. The square became a place of joy and hope!
In the afternoon, we had a chirstmas choir walking around the different streets of Lausanne where the sang Christmas carols and handed out invitations to join our kingdom come event.
We invited people to sit at tables where they could come and go, we had wondeful times of fellowhsip, shared our testimonies and the gospel in personal conversations. We offered free meals and handed out hot chocolate and cookies. From the stage we had live music from several bands and a wonderful program shared.
Homeless people, refugees, and drug addicts, people who are usually not welcome were all welcome to sit at the tables.
By the end of the event, every table was full and we were able to share the good news with many! We also handed out free bibles in different languages.

After the eventAfter the Kingdom Come, we understood why God had given us this venue - He wanted to use us to shine His light in the midst of this dark place. He wanted us to bring His love to the addicts, refugees, and homeless people who no one else would visit. The feast of God's kingdom wasn't just for the special people who were invited, but as Luke 14 says, it was open to the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind.
It is so amazing to witness what God is doing in the midst of this city of Lausanne, and we are so excited to see how God will continue to use us to transform this place, to bring His kingdom into every corner of Lausanne.
Help me to love with open arms, like You do A love that erases all the lines, and sees the truth Oh that when they look in my eyes, they would see You Even in just a smile; they would feel the Father's love - For the One - Brian & Jenn Johnson

4. Next Year Plan & DTS
We have the privilege to lead again the upcoming January DTS 2025.
Currently we have already 20 confiremd students coming from 9 different countries: the USA, UK, Canada, Ukraine, Philippines, Korea, Denmark, Colombia, and Australia.
We are excited to see what kind of young people God will send and how He will transform them!
Over the last 2 weeks we started to meet wiht our staff team to start to get ready for this upcoming school.
Due the pregnancy we will not not join the missions trip of this school as we are expecting the baby end of May.
5. Prayer Request
1. Please pray for health of our baby and the pregnancy process
2. We are still trusting for more staff members to join the January DTS. Please pray for that.
3. Pray for the DTS students who will arrive this coming January for the school. Pray that their hearts are ready to receive and that we will become a wonderful family during this time together.
We like to thank all of you who have been a part of our ministry throughout the year. Every year in December, when we reflect on the past year, we are reminded of how blessed we are.
We are so blessed to know that someone cares about our ministry and is praying for us, whether it's through financial support or prayer!
It's impossible to put into words how grateful we are, but we just want to say thank you again to everyone who reads our newsletter and prays for us. We pray that God will fill your lives and families with more than the blessings you have so generously given to us!
Thank you and we love you!
